Saltwater Delay is built around a single hero Time control backed by eight tempo-synced divisions — or run free in milliseconds when you want it detached from the grid. Three distinct modes change the character of the repeats entirely: Clean for tight, transparent echoes; Ping-Pong for repeats that bounce across the stereo field; and Dub for trails that drift and breathe the way a tape-era dub delay does.
The feedback path is where the character lives. Dedicated low-pass and high-pass filtering — driven by the Tone knob — lets repeats darken and soften or stay bright and present, while separate clarity filtering and mud-damping keep long, high-feedback trails from turning to sludge. A touch of analog-style saturation warms every pass through the loop, so repeats pick up character the longer they circulate.
Switch into Dub mode and a subtle, slow modulation is added to the feedback path — the gentle pitch-and-time drift that gives classic dub delays their wobble. Dual RMS + Peak metering on input and output keeps levels honest, and the same save/load/delete preset workflow used across the Driftlab lineup means your favorite settings are always one click away.
