Overview

A wah that responds to how you play — or sits exactly where you leave it.

Wavebender Wah runs in two modes. Auto follows your playing dynamics with a touch-sensitive envelope, sweeping the filter open and closed the harder or softer you play. Freeze turns the Wah knob into a direct filter position instead — park it anywhere in the sweep and it stays put, like holding a pedal at one spot.

In Auto mode, the Wah knob sets the ceiling the sweep can reach, while Touch controls how sensitive and how fast the envelope responds — lower settings breathe slowly and gently, higher settings snap open on the transient of every note. A Range switch picks between a Vintage sweep (350–1900 Hz) and a Wide sweep (250–2500 Hz), and a Character switch shifts the voicing between a vintage midrange peak for a vocal-like tone and a modern high-shelf lift for extra air and openness.

The whole sweep is visible in real time on the built-in filter visualizer — position, resonance width, and current frequency in Hz, with a trigger LED that lights on the attack of every note. Auto-gain compensation keeps output level consistent as the filter moves, and a soft-clipping output stage keeps the sweep musical even when it’s pushed hard.

  • Auto & Freeze modes
Auto sweeps with your playing dynamics via an envelope follower; Freeze locks the filter at a fixed position set directly by the Wah knob.
  • Touch-sensitive envelope
The Touch knob shapes both the sensitivity and the attack/release speed of the envelope, from a slow, gentle breathe to a snappy, percussive response.
  • Vintage / Wide range switch
Choose a classic 350–1900 Hz vintage sweep or a wider 250–2500 Hz modern range.
  • Vintage / Modern character switch
Vintage adds a midrange peak for a vocal-like tone; Modern adds a high-shelf lift for a brighter, more open top end.
  • Live filter sweep visualizer
Watch the sweep position, resonance width, and live Hz readout in real time, with a trigger LED that responds to the attack of every note.
  • Auto-gain compensation
Output level is automatically balanced against the input as the filter sweeps, so level stays consistent regardless of where the wah sits.
  • Dual RMS + Peak metering
Input and output metering with both RMS and peak readouts, matching the metering architecture used across the Driftlab lineup.
