Overview

Fix the recording you have, not the one you wish you had.

Vocal Lift is built for real-world vocals: podcasts recorded in a spare room, voiceovers on a USB mic, singers working in a bedroom studio. A fixed 80 Hz high-pass clears out rumble first, then the Noise control lowers the background between phrases. Anything above about -40 dBFS passes straight through, so your words keep their natural dynamics while the gaps get quieter.

Harsh sibilance is handled by a dedicated De-Ess control. It listens for how sibilant your voice is rather than how loud it is, so it behaves the same whether you record hot or quiet, and it only turns down the top end while an “s” is actually happening. The body of your voice is never ducked.

From there, Tone tilts warmth, presence and air together, Presence adds or softens upper-mid clarity, and four Character modes add a final flavor. Because De-Ess runs independently, you can push Presence for clarity without making sibilance worse. Fifty problem-solving factory presets get you close fast, and your own presets are saved to disk and inside your project files.

  • Noise reduction between phrases
    Lowers steady background noise like fans, AC and room hiss in the pauses, while speech passes untouched. It is not a hum or room-echo remover, and it never pretends to be.
  • Automatic split-band de-esser
    Tames “s”, “sh” and “t” sounds by reducing only the top end, only while sibilance is present. Works the same at any recording level.
  • Tone and Presence
    Tone tilts the whole voice warmer or brighter from a neutral center. Presence adds or smooths upper-mid clarity and air, independent of the de-esser.
  • Four Character modes
    Neutral for transparency, Warm for body and gentle saturation, Modern for a tight, forward sound, and Vintage for smooth mids and rolled-off highs.
  • 50 problem-solving presets
    Organized by noise environment, voice problem, mic and room issue, tonal goal and processing intensity, so you can start from your situation instead of a blank slate.
  • Metering and a safe output
    Input and output meters with RMS and peak readouts, plus an output ceiling at 0 dBFS so a hot setting never sends clipped audio down your chain.
